Mesothelioma

Tennessee asbestos lawyer

TENNESSEE MESOTHELIOMA LAWYERS.

HELP TO THOSE WITH MESOTHELIOMA.

We can help persons exposed to asbestos and their family members assess their legal options. The dangers of asbestos have been known since the early 20th century, but many companies ignored the warnings about asbestos and knowingly exposed their employees. The American Cancer Society has estimated that as many as 8 million people in the United States have been exposed to asbestos through their jobs even though simple preventative measures could have been taken to protect these people.

If you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, please call us today to discuss your situation. We may be able to help recover financial damages for you to cover the costs of medical treatments, lost work and pain/suffering. We can also try and punish the company who carelessly exposed their employees to life-threatening levels of asbestos.

LINKING ASBESTOS AND MESOTHELIOMA

The only known cause of mesothelioma is previous exposure to asbestos fibers. Asbestos manufacturers knew about the hazards of asbestos seventy years ago – but they kept this knowledge to themselves. The first warnings to workers exposed to asbestos were given in the mid-1960s, and they were terribly inadequate. Even today, workers are not always told they are working around asbestos and are at risk for asbestos disease.

SYMPTOMS.

Symptoms include difficulty in breathing (dyspnea) and/or chest pains, fever, nausea or anemia; other signals are hoarseness, difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), or coughing up blood (hemoptysis). For many suffering from pleural mesothelioma, there may be pain in the chest or lower back. Those people with peritoneal mesothelioma may experience an expanding waist size or abdominal pain resulting from the growth of cancer cells in the abdomen.  Since many of these symptoms are also caused by less serious illnesses, it can be difficult to recognize asbestos-related diseases in the early stages.

DO NOT DELAY.

If you or someone you know has an asbestos-related disease, you owe it to yourself to make sure that your rights are protected. Your rights vary depending on many factors such as your residence, where you were exposed to asbestos, and the location of the responsible asbestos companies. Each state has its own laws and governs the law differently. Each state also has its own deadlines for allowing victims of asbestos disease to file lawsuits, called statutes of limitation and statutes of repose.
